| Some of the individual transport operator's web sites do not have English translations. We have found that this can make the sites a little difficult for non Italian speakers to use at first. For this reason, and purely for the purposes of providing information, we have included a few comments below detailing how we go about accessing timetable information from these sites. These notes might help you access the information you need to complete current arrival and departure times for the itinerary ideas presented in getaroundsardinia.com, or to design your own itinerary.
The following comments are not in any way intended to be a guide as to the correct use of the following sites, it is simply a description of how we have used them to obtain certain timetable information.
We have also provided, below, the English translations of a few key words that might make reading of the timetables a little easier.
ARST
- Go to the ARST website.
- Scroll down the front page to the section titled "Trova la tua destinazione e gli orari di partenza".
- In the area titled "Luogo do partenza", choose the departure town from the list in box named "Commune di", then choose the location within the departure town from the list in box named "fermata". All the itinerary ideas presented in getaroundsardinia.com start either from the ARST bus station (Staz ARST) in each town or from the town centre often indicated in box "fermata" by the town name itself with no suffix or clarifying words.
- In the area titled "Luogo di arrivo" choose the destination town from box named "Commune di".
- Click on "Calcola il percoso"
- Click on the chosen departure time to view the timetable for that bus.
- Note the operating restrictions shown at the top of the timetable.
FdS (Bus)
- Go to the FdS website.
- Under Servizio Automobilistico, select Elenco Linee Extraurbane.
- Select the timetable of interest. The first number shown in the getaroundsardinia.com itinerary ideas indicates the timetable number used for that itinerary.
- Read off the timetable for the bus number of interest. The second number shown in the getaroundsardinia.com itinerary ideas indicates the bus used for the itinerary. Note that sometimes there are two sheets to each timetable indicating the two directions of travel. If you don't find the bus on the first sheet then look on the second.
- Note the legend at the bottom of the timetable.
FdS (Bus - ex PANI)
- Go to the FdS website.
- Under Servizio Automobilistico, select Regionale (ex autolinee Pani)
- Select the timetable of interest. The number shown in the getaroundsardinia.com itinerary ideas indicates the timetable number used for that itinerary.
- Read off the timetable for the bus number of interest. Note that sometimes there are two sheets to each timetable indicating the two directions of travel. If you don't find the bus on the first sheet then look on the second.
- Note the legend at the bottom of the timetable.
FdS (Train)
- Go to the FdS website.
- Under Servizio Ferroviario, select the relevant train service
- Read off the timetable of interest from the selection shown.
- Note the operating restrictions, and in particular the period of applicability of the timetable at top of the page
FdS (Trenino Verde)
- Go to the FdS website.
- Select Il trenino Verde.
- Select Italian language.
- Select Le Linee.
- Select the route of interest on the right hand side (for the Arbatax to Cagliari service select Mandas - Arbatax).
- Select Orario
- Read off the timetable of interest.
- Note the period of operation at the top of the timetables.

FMS
- Go to the FMS website. (Note that this website is now called ARST Sede Iglesias Carbonia as a result of the FMS coming under the control of ARST - see News)
- Under the heading "Orari", select "Orari corse agenzia"
- Select "Elenco Linee".
- Select Indice Linee.
- Select the timetable of interest. The first number shown in the getaroundsardinia.com itinerary ideas indicates the timetable number used for that itinerary.
- Read off the timetable for the bus number of interest. The second number shown in the getaroundsardinia.com itinerary ideas indicates the bus used for the itinerary. Note that sometimes there are two sheets to each timetable indicating the two directions of travel. If you don't find the bus on the first sheet then look on the second.
- Note the legend and notes at the bottom of the timetable and the other symbols indicating restrictions to the route.
PANI
- As of January 2006, all PANI services have been absorbed by, and are now operated by, Ferrovie della Sardegna (FdS). See the section above titled FdS (Bus - ex PANI) for details on how to acces timetables for these routes.
TT
- Go to Turmo Travel website.
- Select Turmo Link.
- Select Le Linee
- Select the town of interest.
- Read off the timetable for the required bus service.
- Note the service restrictions.
