The very helpful and efficient tourist office in Alghero can provide all information necessary on the arrival and departure points of buses and trains in Alghero as well as good maps of the town, lists of the innumerable accommodation options, and suggested activities to fill in your time. Maps of the town can also be found on the web before you arrive.
Most of the buses for various destinations arrive and depart from Via Catalogna which runs along the North side of a long park (Giardini Pubblici) close to the port and old part of town. To reach the tourist office walk to the west end of the park, cross Via Cagliari and continue straight ahead to Via Sassari where the information office is directly in front of you, close to where Via Sassari runs into Piazza Porta Terra.
Buses departing from Alghero for Bosa (Itinerary A1, O1, M1), leave from the park on Via Catalogna where there is a booth selling tickets for both ARST and FdS buses located inside the fence surrounding the park. The Deplanu Redentours bus to and from Nuoro (A2 - A4) also operates from this location but tickets must be bought on the bus.
The FdS trains to and from Sassari (Itinerary A1 - 5), depart from the train station which is located a little distance from the centre of town in Via Don Minzoni (about 20 mins walk along Via Garibaldi in front of the port and then right into Via Don Minzoni). Certain trains (but not all) are met by small buses which link the train station to Via Catalogna. In particular some of the early morning departing trains are serviced by the bus whilst several of the late evening arrivals are not. If your hotel is not located in the area of the train station, or you don't feel like walking into town at the end of an itinerary, then it may be better to take one of the buses from Sassari to Alghero which depart frequently from the Sassari bus station (near the train station) and arrive at Via Catalogna near the centre of Alghero. It is also possible to get to the train station from the centre of Alghero via local buses AP and AF, but they are not very frequent.
There is a small left luggage facility at the FdS train station in Alghero which is convenient if you need to leave some luggage before setting off on an itinerary.

Actinia B&B is a newly renovated apartment that opened to guests in January 2006. Our facility is located a mere 7km from Alghero airport and just 500m from Mamuntanas train station.
